NOVEMBER
N is for Name.
We showed Mrs. Fink we could put the letters of our name in order.
We counted the number of letters in our name...then...
we placed our names in a graph to see who had the longest/shortest names.
We made Mrs.Fink and Mrs. Luchner so proud of us!
Emily and Georgia's moms volunteered to help us.
Our Indian Shirts were fabulous.
We used pattern blocks to make our patterns.
These are the patterns we will make on our headbands.
We had fun making patterns by printing....
with paint.
We acted out the Thanksgiving poem: 5 Fat Turkeys.
Just look at my cute little indians!
We learned that the Native Americans used turtle shells to make a musical instrument.
We used colored macaroni noodles....and...
made patterns on our necklaces.
We used Native American symbols of nature to choose our names.
_Then we tossed beanbags to make a compound word for our Indian Name.
Mrs.Fink wrote our real name next to our Indian name.
Then we learned about the Pilgrims.
We learned about traditional foods for a Thanksgiving meal.
We reviewed our letters by....
using the arrow magnet pole to hunt turkeys say the NAME of the letter and its SOUND.
We learned that cranberries are gathered in a bog.
Do cranberries FLOAT or SINK? (FLOAT..because they have SEEDS.)
We had a fun feast with Mrs.Brownings class.
Mrs.Fink carved the turkey(chicken). It was yummy.
